Attraverso la documentazione d’archivio di James E. Quibell (1867-1935) relativa agli scavi da lui condotti a Saqqara, conservata presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano, il presente contributo si interroga sull’approccio tenuto da un archeologo che lavorava in Egitto all’inizio del XX secolo nei confronti degli “small finds”.Going through the archives of James E. Quibell (1867-1935) on his excavations at Saqqara, which are kept at the University of Milan, this paper would query the approach in recording “small finds” held by an archaeologist working in Egypt at the beginning of the XXth Century
